SANTA CLARA – Authorities on Monday were investigating an attempted bank robbery near Santa Clara University.The incident was reported just after 3 p.m. at the Wells Fargo at 1111 Washington St., said Santa Clara police Lt. PLEASANTON — Two ski-mask-wearing suspects were sought Monday in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man during an attempted robbery at an apartment complex, authorities said.In limited statements Monday night, police said a witness told them of seeing the male suspects around 10:30 a.m., running from an apartment in the 5700 block of Owens Drive.Moments later, Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department firefighters responded to a report of a medical emergency at 10:35 a.m.Police did not offer any information about the man, and an Alameda County Sheriff’s Office coroner’s bureau deputy was not able to identify him Monday night.The suspects were not found, but police said they believe the incident was isolated and there was no public threat. DENVER (KDVR) — Denver Police Chief Ron Thomas said officers shot and killed a man who stabbed a family member while barricaded inside a home.Thomas said the man was holding two people in a room in the home near Montview Boulevard and Oneida Street. Officers first responded at about 8:30 p.m. and called on more resources and personnel, including an ambulance and crisis negotiators.By 9:30 p.m., shots were fired."While they were waiting for crisis negotiators to arrive, the suspect began assaulting one of the individuals being held inside with a knife," Thomas said.
